In order to make the process of the final mold trial, shipping and initial production at customer's facility flow smoothly and efficiently, we have developed a procedure.

Procedure:

Before the final mold trial, specific steps should be taken as follows:

1. The mold should be disassembled and completely cleaned and degreased with acetone and/or alcohol. Particular attention must be made to brushclean all of the ejector pin holes and any other components that could carry grease or residue onto the molded parts. All residues must be removed.

2. After the mold is completely cleaned, it should be reassembled in preparation for the final mold trial. Upon reassembly, the ejector pins and components that require grease (that come in contact with the molded surface), should have clear non-bleeding grease applied. 

3. All other mold components must have good quality high temperature lithium grease applied.

4. Pay careful attention that all O-rings are installed and any damaged ones are replaced. Check that all screws are installed and properly tightened. If it is a hot runner mold, replace all of the crush rings if they were disassembled. Install and pressure test all water fittings and connections.

5. After the final successful mold trial, do not disassemble the mold. Clean and spray the molding surfaces and parting lines with mold cleaner and mold surface protection.

6. Upon crating, the mold will be placed into a vapor barrier vacuum shipping bag sufficient for ocean shipping. Include sufficient sized desiccant packets for complete moisture absorption. The bag will be sealed, air-tight. The mold will be secured inside the crate in the usual manner. All extra separate components will be sprayed with mold protection and vacuum packed with desiccant in separate bags within the crate.

Following this procedure will allow customers to place the mold into production without the delay of disassembly, cleaning, degreasing and reassembly. It will eliminate any chance of missing screws or improper reassembly before initial production.
This procedure will insure that the mold functions properly during its final trial and insure immediate successful production startup at customer site.
